Our Ongoing Mission: As workers in God’s Kingdom, we not only work for the betterment of families but to increase their stability. We do this by providing people with some of the simplest needs; like food, clothing, and household items, transportation to medical and other appointments, teaching useful skills, and working in fellowship and solidarity with all we meet. We offer programs in sewing, knitting, quilt-making, and needlecraft, as well as teach gardening, canning, health and nutrition basics, entrepreneurship, and other skills. In doing these things we hope to offer the confidence that comes with knowing that all of us can address our basic needs.
SSSCM also works closely with local organizations and allies, including the Children and Family Resource Center, Clergy Women’s Council, Tallahassee Food Network(iGrow Garden), Leon Fruit & Nut Exchange, One More Child, Tallahassee Food Network, Throne Room Trust Ministries, and the Youth Symposium on Food & Hunger.
“Blessed be God, even the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” –Second Corinthians 1:1-4
