Bio: Elder A. Ivy

Elder Archie Ivy was born May 16, 1951, in the Los Angeles Suburb of Compton California. He attended UCLA and Antioch Universities, studying Media and Communications.

After working briefly in television as a production assistant on shows like the legendary “Soul Train,” “This Is Your Life,” and “Truth or Consequences;” he became a journalist for a number of entertainment publications.

His work led him to become a publicist for the group Parliament / Funkadelic, and eventually, he became the group’s manager, working with them for over 40 years. He continues to this day as a consultant and longtime friend of the group’s leader, Mr. George Clinton.

Elder A. Ivy serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Sowing Seeds Sewing Comfort Ministry, founded by his wife, Elder Charlotta Ivy. He was baptized by water as a child in his late 50’s and baptized by the fire of the Holy Ghost in 2007; dedicating his life to the Lord. He was ordained a minister in 2010 and ordained an Elder in 2016.

Presently he is on the ministerial staff of Faith Chapel Pentecostal Church, where he serves as the Sunday School Superintendent.
